Woodside Energy chief Meg O’Neill says the historic Inflation Reduction Act has made the US a leader in the global energy transition because it uses “carrots, not sticks” to incentivise lower emissions.

Ms O’Neill is expected to laud the historic climate legislation in a speech to the American Chamber of Commerce in Perth on Thursday. The IRA is predicted to help America slash its carbon emissions by about 40 per cent from 2005 levels by 2030.
