Broome police have charged two people over separate drug-related incidents after a series of operations on Wednesday, June 18.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested after officers executed a search warrant and allegedly uncovered $10,440 in cash, prohibited drugs and a mobile phone.

She has been charged with 10 counts of offering to sell or supply methylamphetamine and possession of unlawfully obtained property.

Later the same day, around 5.30pm, police conducted a traffic stop on Guy Street, where a vehicle search allegedly revealed nine clip seal bags containing methylamphetamine packaged for sale, as well as cash.

A follow-up search warrant led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia, including digital scales.

A 21-year-old man has since been charged with possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, possession of unlawfully obtained property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended.

Police said both incidents were part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the local drug trade and reduce community harm.

“Illicit drugs cause significant damage to our community,” a police spokesperson said.

“We have several active drug operations under way, with more planned in the future.”

Anyone with information about drug activity is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Broome police directly.
