Federal Trade Minister Don Farrell says no backroom deals were done between Australia and China to lift the live lobster ban, adding there was an “iron clad guarantee” the Chinese would start buying the WA delicacy before Christmas.
But his optimism still came with a warning to Australian exporters not to “have all of your eggs in the one basket”.
