A 15-year-old has been charged with robbing a teenager of his phone at knifepoint on a train in Perth’s northern suburbs, with police still searching for another juvenile assailant.

Police allege the 15-year-old accused, along with another young boy, approached the 16-year-old victim while on a train travelling southbound between Whitfords and Warwick about 2.15pm on Monday.

The pair threatened the 16-year-old with a knife before they stole his phone, ran off the train and fled to a nearby suburban area, police claim.

The 16-year-old was not injured during the incident.

A short time later, police arrested the 15-year-old alleged robber at a home on Hawker Avenue in Warwick.

He has been charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated home burglary and commit and carries an article with intent to cause fear.

He will face the Perth Children’s Court on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the second alleged assailant remains on the run. He is described as being aged between 13 and 16 years old, with a slim build, dark skin and dark brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a white jumper and dark pants.
