An intensive crackdown has led to the restoration of 598 stolen automobiles in Canada, authorities introduced Wednesday amid a growth in auto thefts throughout the nation.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) stated the vast majority of recovered vehicles — 483 of them — are from Ontario. They have a possible worth of $34.5 million.

“Approximately 75 per cent of vehicles recovered from sea containers in Montreal are identified as stolen in Ontario,” authorities stated in a joint assertion.

The different 115 automobiles had been stolen from Quebec, in keeping with police.
