A person who was shot after allegedly threatening protecting companies officers on a Melbourne bridge has been charged with assault.
Police and protecting officers had been attending a separate violent incident close to Princes Street Bridge in Melbourne’s CBD about 7.30pm on Friday when a person confronted them.
The 20-year-old Pakenham man produced a damaged glass bottle and commenced making threats in direction of a protecting companies officer.
The officers tried to make use of pepper spray on the person to no impact and he allegedly continued to pursue and threaten an officer.
Both officers then drew their weapons, with one firing two photographs on the man.
One shot hit him within the stomach and the second bullet has not been accounted for.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening accidents.
On Tuesday the person was charged with two counts of frequent assault, two counts of assaulting protecting companies officers, two counts of threatening the officers and reckless conduct.
He was remanded in custody following a hospital bedside listening to and is because of entrance the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on May 7.
Police don’t imagine the incident was terror-related.
