A person is preventing for all times and a second has been arrested after a critical crash in Melbourne.

Police have been informed a white Holden Commodore station wagon collided with a blue VW ute on Main Road East about 10.30pm on Wednesday.

A 39-year-old Broadmeadows man who was a passenger within the Holden Commodore is in a essential situation in hospital.

The driver of the Commodore – additionally a 39-year-old Broadmeadows man- was arrested and is at present helping police with their inquiries.

The male driver of the ute was not injured.
