Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed a “historic victory” in its conflict with Iran, but warned it will “strike again” if Tehran restores its nuclear program, as the nation’s shaky ceasefire appears to stand up.

Speaking in a televised address, Mr Netanyahu detailed Israel’s achievements in the war, including its attacks on top generals and nuclear scientists, hailing a historic victory.

The Prime Minister also said Israel destroyed nuclear sites in Arak, Natanz and Isfahan, but emphasised it must also complete its campaign against Iran’s axis, defeat Hamas and coordinate the return of all hostages in Gaza.

“For dozens of years, I promised you that Iran would not have nuclear weapons and indeed… we brought to ruin Iran’s nuclear program,” Mr Netanyahu said.

“We have dismantled the Iranian nuclear project and if anyone in Iran thinks of rebuilding it, we will strike again.”

Mr Netanyahu claimed Israel’s attack on Iran, named “Operation Rising Lion”, would be “recorded in the annals of Israel’s wars, and will be studied by armies all over the world.”

During his speech, the Prime Minister thanked US President Donald Trump for standing by Israel.

“Our friend President Trump has stood by us in an unprecedented way – under his direction the US military destroyed the deep-earth enrichment site at Fordow,” he said.

The address follows reports of Israeli Air Forces intercepting two unmanned aerial vehicles on Tuesday evening (local time) that were heading towards the country’s territory.

The Israeli Air Forces posted on X that they were likely from Iran and that the interceptions were executed outside the country’s territory.
