The US has vetoed three resolutions calling for a suspension of hostilities in Gaza since October 7.

Nearly 5 months since Israel launched its battle on Gaza, the United Nations has did not undertake a decision calling for a pause within the hostilities.

Three votes have been held within the Security Council – however the United States has vetoed all of them.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has described the veto as an instrument that’s paralysed the council from taking motion on Gaza.

Palestine’s ambassador to the UN has stated US vetoes have value Palestinians their lives.

The US is one in every of solely 5 everlasting members that may veto resolutions, and it’s been accused of misusing its energy.
