HONG KONG: A Hong Kong airport floor employee was killed when he was hit by a towed plane on Tuesday (Feb 6), authorities stated, a uncommon incident that prompted an arrest for harmful driving.

The unnamed sufferer, a 34-year-old Jordanian nationwide working in Hong Kong, is believed to have been using within the passenger seat of a tow truck when he fell out of the car and was hit by the airplane being pulled behind it, police stated.

Emergency employees discovered the person mendacity on a taxiway with a number of severe accidents within the early hours of Tuesday, the drive stated in a press release.

He was pronounced lifeless on the scene.

Hong Kong’s airport authority stated the person was an worker at floor help and upkeep agency China Aircraft Services.

“It is suspected that the seat belt was left unfastened while the staff was working on the (vehicle),” the authority stated.

Police stated the car’s 60-year-old driver had been arrested on suspicion of harmful driving inflicting demise.

He has been detained pending an investigation, the police added.

China Aircraft Services didn’t instantly reply to AFP’s request for remark.
