The Port Hedland Rovers women’s team had every reason to celebrate over the weekend, notching up a historic first win since joining the competition three years ago.
Taking to their home turf at Colin Matheson Oval, the Rovers delivered a powerhouse performance with a strong and full line-up, dismantling the Karratha Falcons with a commanding 40–2 win.
Kaela Riley was unstoppable, slotting three goals and earning best-on-ground honours for the Rovers with a stand-out display that inspired her teammates and thrilled the crowd.
Meanwhile at Windy Ridge Oval, the Dampier Sharks women’s team also had something to smile about, recording their first win of the season, overcoming the South Hedland Swans in a solid team effort 8.3 (51) to 1.4 (10).
Newcomer Bree Pink impressed in her debut, seamlessly anchoring the back line while the midfield showed growing polish with sharper ball movement and improved cohesion.
At Wickham Town Oval, the Karratha Kats held firm in a tough contest against the Wickham Wolves.

In a hard-fought clash, the Kats emerged victorious with a 6.5 (41) to 2.3 (15) scoreline, continuing their strong start to the season.
