BANGKOK: Thai authorities issued an excessive warmth warning for Bangkok on Wednesday (Apr 24), urging individuals to remain indoors for his or her security as temperatures soared.

The mercury was forecast to hit 39 levels Celsius within the sprawling Thai capital, whereas the warmth index rose above 52 levels Celsius, classed as “extremely dangerous” by metropolis authorities.

The warmth index is a measure of what the temperature appears like, taking humidity, wind velocity and different elements into consideration.

“Warning: the heat index today is ‘extremely dangerous’. Please avoid activities outdoors,” the Bangkok metropolis authority’s atmosphere division wrote in a Facebook submit.

“The heat index is classed as extremely dangerous when it goes above 52 degrees Celsius.”
