A Chinese girl has been charged within the UK with two counts of prison possession of cryptocurrency.

Yadi Zhang, often known as Zhimin Qian, is accused of buying, utilizing or possessing prison property, specifically cryptocurrency, from October 1, 2017 till Tuesday this week in London and elsewhere within the UK.

Zhang, who denies the costs introduced by the Crown Prosecution Service, made an preliminary look at Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Through a translator, she indicated she would plead not responsible and didn’t apply for bail. She gave her date of start as 10 November 1990.

“There should be no rush to judgment in this case. Ms Zhang asserts that she is wholly innocent,” her lawyer, Roger Sahota of Berkeley Square Solicitors, informed the Financial Times.

She was remanded in custody by District Judge Sarah Turnock. The case has been despatched to Southwark Crown Court.
