A bushfire advice is in place for Bayonet Head, about 8km north of Albany, as a bushfire rages within 200m of homes on either side of the blaze.

The advice is in place for people bordering Stranmore Boulevard and Ballindean Avenue in Bayonet Head.

More than 10 Albany Fire and Rescue Services appliances were deployed to bush land near Stranmore Boulevard and Cullinan Terrace in Bayonet Head after an emergency warning was issued at 8.24am on Saturday.

The fire is burning on Lower King Road south of Elizabeth St and north of Allwood Parade and is moving in a north-easterly direction.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and reduce speed and stay vigilant.
