Boeing has made its “best and final” offer to striking workers, offering a 30 per cent raise as it tries to end a work stoppage that threatens its recovery.

The 33,000 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 751 walked off the job 11 days ago after rejecting a contract negotiated by the union’s leadership.

The earlier offer was for a 25 per cent increase and eliminated annual bonuses. The new proposal increases the pay rise, restores the bonus, improves retirement benefits and doubles the size of the ratification bonus to $6,000.

The union did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
