Australian power puncher Teremoana Teremoana has shattered James “The Beast” Singh’s hopes of shocking the boxing world, finishing off the Fijian in barely two minutes.
Singh had ambitiously vowed to end Teremoana’s undefeated record on the George Kambosos Jr-Jake Wyllie undercard on Saturday night.
But the Parramatta Eels tragic was put firmly in his place as the referee stopped the heavyweight mismatch two minutes 12 seconds into the bout at Qudos Bank Arena.
Toying with the 50-1 underdog, Teremoana had dropped Singh earlier in the opening round of the contest.
The crowd jeered the referee when he stopped the fight but he had no choice with the Pacific Islander shown up as being badly out of his depth.
While Singh’s professional record has slumped to 12 wins and seven defeats, Teremoana is eager to live up to his reputation as a future heavyweight champion of the world.
The 27-year-old has now won all seven of his pro fights by way of knockout.
“I just want to keep on pumping them out and like I’m not too fazed with anyone who steps in the ring,” Teremoana said.
“Anyone who gets in, we’ve obviously got to take a step at a time, but I’m ready for the champions in Australia and let’s go one at a time.
“We’ll get there all the way to the world title. I carry the flag on behalf of Australia and the Cook Islands and I’m going to take our flag all the way to the world stage.”
