A car crash is causing chaos for drivers heading through the Perth CBD this afternoon, causing major congestion on the Narrows Bridge on Kwinana Freeway northbound.
Footage shows the vehicles pulled over on the Bridge, which has blocked and closed the Freeway’s left lane which turns onto Mounts Bay Road.
Delays are expected as traffic is backed up on approach, and speed limits are reduced to 40km/h.
Main Roads WA has reminded drivers to allow for safe merging before approaching the crash, and to exercise extreme caution when driving in the area.
Police are attending the scene.
Another crash was reported on Reid Highway at Erindale Road in Balcatta, just 15 minutes after the Freeway crash was reported at 2.06pm.
The right lane of Reid Highway eastbound has been blocked by the crash, and traffic is heavy with peak hour vehicles affected.
Main Roads have once again reminded drivers to exercise extreme caution if driving in the area, as the affected motorists are out of their vehicles.
Both crashes have since been cleared, but traffic remains heavy on approach in both areas.
