Perth Airport has announced it will be closing a major road to build its new runway in the new year.

Grogan Road, which links Horrie Miller Drive with Abernethy Road, will be closed from Monday, January 12, 2026, between Abbott and Affleck Roads.

The new runway is described as a “major step forward” for “WA’s aviation future”, according to Perth Airport.

“All vehicle access to Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 will be maintained via Airport Drive,” a statement from the airport said.

“Please allow extra time for your journey and follow signage and traffic management at all times.
