A $2m dollar home has become a house of horrors for its landlord after the tenants trashed it so badly professional cleaners were required to don hazmat suits for the job.

The owners of the Baulkham Hills home in Sydney’s northwest managed to finally evict nightmare tenants, who allegedly dodged inspections for months.

But the property was left as nothing more than a horrific mess – with footage from 7News capturing the extent of the damage.

The situation was so bad a professional cleaner called in to tackle the mess had to wear a protective hazmat suit to guard against the smell and contaminants present.

“It was like a horror. It was like I’ve never seen before.” cleaner Ashleigh Partsch-Isaako told 7News.

The professional cleaner needed to “fully suit up and put on a mask” due to the smell and any other dangers beneath all the rubbish.

The Tasmanian couple who own the $2m dollar home had already paid Miss Partsch-Isaako $4000 for the professional clean, but are now planning a restoration.

“When people invest in property in Australia, they often don’t take into account all of the risks that can be associated,” Leo Patterson Ross, the CEO of the Tenants’ Union of NSW, told the 7News.

“The people who’ve been renting this home now might find it difficult to find a new home because there will be this incident on their record.”
