A press conference held by Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has been thrown into chaos by Thomas Sewell, a well-known far-right extremist and leader of the National Socialist Network.
Mr Sewell interrupted the event on Tuesday morning, confronting Ms Allan in Melbourne and claiming that the state government was restricting the public’s right to protest.
Footage shows Sewell shouting questions at Ms Allan while being physically restrained by security.

“Why don’t Australians have the right to protest? Why do you want to ban us from protesting?” Mr Sewell asked.
As security tried to push him back, he said, “Don’t put your f —king hands on me.”
“Shouldn’t we have the right to speak in our own country, you coward? Have your goons attack me? You’re a coward, and we’re gonna take this country back from politicians like you.”
He claimed he “never sees” anyone shake her hand but said 500 people had shaken his hand over the weekend.
“There was 50,000 of us,” he added.
“Thank you. ‘Heil Australia’,” he shouted.
The incident follows the group’s reported involvement in storming an Aboriginal camp and fuelling violence at the anti-immigration March for Australia rally.
Pressure is also mounting on authorities to label the National Socialist Network a terrorist group.
