British superstar Ed Sheeran is opening the Australian leg of his Loop Tour in Perth this weekend with two epic concerts at Optus Stadium, taking place on Saturday and Sunday night.

For the beautiful people heading in, we’ve prepared a quick fan guide to ensure you don’t miss a thing.

Set Times (based on NZ shows and latest info)

Gates Open: 4pm

BIIRD: 5:15pm

Mia Wray: 6pm

Vance Joy: 6.45pm

Ed Sheeran: 8pm

Travel to/from Optus Stadium

Your concert ticket includes travel on all Transperth services for three hours either side of each day’s concert. Simply show your event ticket to the driver or inspector if asked, which you must carry with you for free transport.

Trains

Trains on the Armadale and Thornlie-Cockburn lines will make stops at Perth Stadium Station throughout the day, with direct trains operating on the Yanchep and Mandurah lines before and after each show.

Trains on the direct Fremantle line will only operate post-show.

Buses

Replacement buses will be operating between Midland and Bassendean stations due to a partial line shutdown, but train services will resume from Bassendean onwards.

The Suburban Event Bus Network will run between 4pm and 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as for 45 minutes after the concert’s conclusion.

The Red CAT will also be operating, taking concertgoers from West Perth via Perth CBD to Matagarup Bridge.

Advice

“Motorists should allow for extra travel time especially during afternoon peak as delays are expected. If in the stadium precinct be aware of heavy foot traffic and frequently stopping vehicles,” a Main Roads spokesperson said.

Merchandise

Unlike recent touring acts AC/DC and Metallica, a pop-up merch store outside of the venue has not been planned.

Instead, fans will have the opportunity to purchase merch and themed paraphernalia in and around Optus Stadium from vendors.

Tickets

While tickets to both January 31 and Feb 1 shows are yet to sell out at the time of writing, Frontier Touring is expecting upwards of 55,000 fans to attend each performance.

At of Friday midday, restricted view tickets remain available from $69.90.

Sheeran holds the record for the single largest ticketed event in WA, welcoming 73,092 to his previous show at Optus Stadium, held on March 12, 2023.

He is also the first artist to have played a concert at the venue, bringing his Divide Tour to Perth in March 2018.

Stadium Food Specials

Hungry British expats might be craving a taste of home upon hearing the English star in full voice, with Optus Stadium slinging a plate-sized Yorkshire pudding wrap with sliced roast beef, mash potato and gravy.

Aptly named The Sheeran, the venue’s take on the savoury favourite be available from Pop up 101, Pop up East and South floor bars, priced at $25.
