A Perth delivery driver was attacked and had his vehicle stolen and then crashed in Como the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police said the man in his 20s was waiting in his Toyota Echo on Ednah Street about 12.35am when he was approached and allegedly punched several times.

His attacker then allegedly drove off in the hatchback but a short time later crashed into a tree at the corner of McDonald and Thelma Streets in Como.

Police said they caught the man who had injuries from the crash, after a brief foot chase.

A 25-year-old man from Woodbridge is due to appear in court on Sunday, if medically able, on robbery, stealing and aggravated assault charges.
