West Australian midfielder Chad Warner has re-committed to the Sydney Swans, signing a two-year deal to remain in the harbour city despite serious interest from West Coast and Fremantle.
Warner has been at the centre of speculation he was feeling homesick and was looking to return to his home state.
However, the 23-year-old has paid little heed to those rumours, with his fresh deal believed to be highly lucrative.
Warner will now stay at the Swans until at least the end of 2027 but will still only be 26 when it expires, leaving the door open for homecoming.
Speculation of a return to Western Australia hit overdrive in January when the powerful midfielder purchased a $2.9 million home in Applecross.
A move similar to that Luke Jackson before he defected from Melbourne, where he won a premiership, to the Dockers.
However, in recent months, reports have surfaced of former West Coast premiership player and first-year coach Dean Cox renewing Warner’s love of the bloods.
