Investigators believe this is an isolated incident contained to the house and that there is no ongoing risk to public safety.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is taking over the investigation.
“This is an area that is more isolated… it’s a neighbourhood that does not see the police that often. It’s a gated townhouse complex so it’s rocking that neighbourhood right now,” said Sgt. Paul Walker with Abbotsford Police.
Walker added people can expect to see police in the area for the next few days as the investigation continues.
Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448.
